Frequently Asked Questions
Who can apply?
Women aged 13–27 (both inclusive), from any country in the world. No previous professional experience is required.
Is there any cost?
Applying is free, and accommodation and meals during the program are provided by the host at no cost to you. Accepted participants travelling from outside Türkiye also receive a full travel scholarship, with flights to and from Istanbul arranged by IISLP.
Where is the program held?
In Istanbul, Türkiye. IISLP is based in Istanbul and the program runs there in full.
How long is the program?
Two weeks.
What will I actually do?
Workshops and sessions on innovation and social leadership, and a project you build with an international team across the two weeks. Every team presents its project at a showcase at the end of the program.
Do I need previous experience?
No. We look for motivation and genuine interest, not a polished resume.
Is accommodation provided?
Yes. Accommodation is provided by the host for the full duration of the program, at no cost to you. Participants stay together in a hotel in Istanbul.
Are meals provided?
Yes, meals are provided by the host throughout the program.
Is my travel covered?
Accepted participants travelling from outside Türkiye receive a full travel scholarship: IISLP arranges and covers flights to and from Istanbul. Accepted participants based in Türkiye can apply for travel support where they need it. Arrangements are confirmed with you in writing before anything is booked.
Can you help with my visa?
Yes, if you would like the help. Our team can provide the documents an embassy usually asks for, such as program confirmation and accommodation details. This support is optional and you are welcome to handle the application yourself. Visa decisions are made by the relevant authorities, not by the program.
What is the attendance requirement?
At least 80% attendance is required to complete the program and receive a certificate.
What certificate will I receive?
A Certificate of Completion in Global Innovation and Social Leadership, awarded to participants who complete the program and meet the attendance requirement.
How does the application work?
Four steps: you apply online, our team reviews your application, you are invited to an interview if you pass, and then you receive a final decision.
How does the interview work?
Over Google Meet, Zoom, or text-based chat, whichever suits you best. It is a conversation about your motivation, not a test.
Can I apply if I am under 18?
Yes, and applicants under 18 are a normal part of every group. Your application includes a section for a parent or guardian, and we confirm their consent with them directly.
What photographs are required?
Three quick shots: a clear photo of your face, a second with your head turned left, and one full “Face + Body” photo taken clothed. They are used only to confirm that you are the person applying.
How are my photographs protected?
They are encrypted at rest, stored with strict access controls, never used for marketing or AI training, and deleted after a set retention period. Only authorized staff can access them, and every access is logged.
Is there a network after the program ends?
Yes. Participants stay connected through the IISLP alumni community, which continues after the two weeks are over.
What happens if I am not selected?
You will be notified, and you are welcome to apply again in a future cycle.
Can I withdraw my application?
Yes. You can withdraw from your dashboard at any time before a final decision.
How will I receive important notifications?
On your applicant dashboard, and inside any support request you open — that is where we reply. For urgent matters we may also send an SMS or WhatsApp message to the number you registered with. The programme never sends email.
